  이번 미니 앨범은 2집 ‘WELCOME2 BASTARZ] 이후 2년 5개월 만에 알린 컴백 소식으로 멤버 전원이 작사, 작곡에 참여한 것으로 알려져 많은 이들의 주목을 받았다.

  기존에 두 앨범을 통해 보컬, 작곡, 작사 무엇 하나 빠지지 않는 ‘프로듀싱 그룹’의 완성을 알린 블락비 바스타즈는 [I’m a mess.]에서 더욱 완성도 높은 앨범 구성과 음악적 퀄리티, 스토리라인까지 담아내며 그 입지를 굳힌다.

  먼저, 선행되는 ‘Messed Up’은 재즈 기반의 인스트루멘털 곡으로 색소폰과 기타, 피아노 솔로가 어우러져 환상적인 시너지를 내는 곡이다. 음악이 시작되면 들리는 군중들의 말소리와 담뱃불을 붙이는 라이터 소리는 마치 밤의 거리를 연상시키고 바로 이어지는 ‘Help Me’까지 그 사운드가 이어져 전체적인 앨범의 분위기를 그려낸다.
