  Jeong Sewoon s new album, <Day>, presents familiar yet unfamiliar music. The 5 songs that quietly penetrate without stimulation are completely connected to one story, erasing the existing image of Jeong Se-woon. That unfamiliarity is closer to curiosity than rejection. If the previous work PLUS MINUS ZERO focused on finding a point of contact with the trend, the new album <Day> heightened the level of immersion in the album with the story of Jeong Se-woon, who became a storyteller.

  The definite strength of the album is the power of melodies linked to emotions. From the beginning of the day to the end, this is a new album that depicts Jeong Sewoon s 24 hours. The story of love and waiting that grows stronger as time goes by, and the two emotions you feel when you are in love, are specifically brought out and connected to one. The song was meticulously filled with the gradually deepening joy and sadness, and details and emotional lines that are released from the strange border.

  Like the deepening memories, the emotional production is also impressive. From the title song Like That Day When It Rains , filled with nostalgia with only piano and vocals, to Temperature Difference , a dynamic reversal of emotions, stages of love, separation, longing, and reminiscence alternate.   정세운의 새 앨범 < Day >는 친숙하면서도 낯선 음악을 들려준다. 자극 없이 조용히 파고드는 5곡은 온전히 하나의 이야기로 연결돼 기존 정세운의 이미지를 지운다. 그 낯설음은 거부감보다 궁금증에 가깝다. 전작 PLUS MINUS ZERO’가 트렌드와의 접점을 찾는데 주력했다면, 신보 < Day >는 스토리텔러가 된 정세운의 얘기로 앨범의 몰입도를 한껏 높였다.

  확실한 앨범의 장점은 감정과 연결된 선율의 힘이다. 하루의 시작부터 끝까지, 정세운의 24시간을 그려본 새 음반으로, 시간이 지날수록 진해지는 사랑과 기다림 대한 이야기, 사랑을 하면 느끼게 되는 두 가지 감정을 구체적으로 끄집어 내 하나로 연결시켰다. 서서히 깊어지는 기쁨과 슬픔, 묘한 경계에서 풀어내는 디테일과 감정선으로 노래를 꼼꼼하게 채웠다.

  타이틀곡 ‘비가 온대 그날처럼’은 사랑과 상실, 그리움이란 주제를 절제된 어조로 풀어낸 팝 발라드. 피아노를 중심으로 한 미니멀한 편곡과 정세운의 절제된 보컬이 이별 후 시간이 흐른 뒤의 담담함, 그 감정의 공허함을 잘 표현해낸 곡이다. 특히 대화하듯 읊조리는 멜로디가 일관된 온도로 유지되면서 차분한 감상을 가능하게 한다.
